The label started in a one-room studio in Palmetto in 2021, with forty metres of Lithuanian linen and a borrowed sewing machine. The first run was twelve slip dresses. They sold to friends, then to friends of friends, and then to people we had never met.
We kept the run small on purpose. Forty pieces per style is enough to keep an atelier busy, and small enough that nothing is made that nobody asked for. It also means we can name the people who cut, sew and press each piece — and visit them twice a year.
Today the collection is made between two ateliers: one in Porto, one in Lima, where the knits are finished by hand. Everything is designed to be repaired rather than replaced. If a seam opens or a hem drops, send it back. We will mend it, and send it home.
